Earth's landforms and life as archetypes.

Earthquakes that shake the earth beneath our feet can remind us not to take for granted that which we tend to ignore. The suffocating stillness of hot air reminds us that continual inaction can lead to a "suffocating" life. All aspects of earth have something to teach us if we pay attention. What does your environment teach you?

How do we identify with the land and why should we?

Everything we eat and breathe and drink belonged to another entity just moments ago. The oxygen molecule that was in the leaf of my backyard tree moments ago now courses through my own veins and becomes part of a bone. Every step I take creates a small but real vibration into the ground. What of it? What does it mean to be for us to be integrated with all that is of and on the earth?
